Outside Dreamin’
Now that it’s March, it feels like spring is right around the corner. This is the last month before things start to properly warm up, right? (Right?!) The weather report may not agree (and in fact I’m watching the snow fall as I type this – go away, snow!), but lately I’ve been dreaming of green leaves on the trees, enjoying dinner on the deck, and ways we can add curb appeal to our house.

Our house is obviously a bit…70s-builder-basic. The colors are nice, but it leaves something to be desired for traditional/colonial/craftsman-loving me. So when I saw this image floating around on Pinterest, I was completely floored:
Wow. A builder-basic home much like ours, completely transformed. I’m sure this cost a pretty penny and a half, but it gives me so much inspiration to know that our boring brick-and-siding house could look like that if we took the time and money to do it. Maybe someday.
This porch is everything I want our deck to be. I love the wicker chairs, the graphic-yet-neutral rug, the soft-yet-bright color palette… Everything.
I just love this front door makeover! Love the stately black front door, the placement of the knocker and the house numbers, and the symmetry of it all.
I LOVE this idea for window box herb gardens. Just imagine leaning right out your kitchen window to grab a handful of fresh basil…sigh.
Speaking of ideas I love, how about this vintage colander-turned-hanging-basket? So adorable!
This photo makes me think of the beautiful gardens we saw in Williamsburg on our honeymoon. I love seeing a garden climbing its way around a white picket fence.
Sigh. Is it spring yet? Only another few weeks of this dreary, cold, slushy snow, right? Let’s hope that groundhog was right…

I want spring so badly. And those adorable and absolutely practical window box herb gardens are dreamy -sigh-
…move to Arizona and Yes! It’s spring! LOL Sorry you’re still dealing with snow! I’m not sure I could ever move anywhere that has a real winter, I’m much too wimpy!
Gah, lucky!! But see, I’m the opposite, I don’t think I could ever live somewhere with such HOT summers! I think 80° is bordering on too hot.
haha, yeah, 80 is not hot here. I guess if you don’t enjoy walking outside and feeling like you just opened your oven then you wouldn’t enjoy it here :)
